FAQ

Age: We do not have any age requirements, but we do recommend that parents are confident that their children are mature and are ready to begin learning a foreign language.

Cancellations: A 24 hour notice is required for scheduled lessons otherwise the lesson will be billed as scheduled.

Experience: No experience is necessary. We are able to help beginner to advanced students achieve their goals.

Lesson Types: As language specialists we pride ourselves on being able to adapt to your personal needs and goals. We provide Private Lessons for individuals or small groups that would like to learn to SPEAK and gain valuable real life experience in a foreign language. Academic Tutoring for those in need of help with homework, test and essay preparation, grammar, speaking and listening, and general coaching. Corporate Training or Business language lessons are available for businesses that need to train and prepare their employees to interact on a professional level in a foreign language.

Location: Our language lessons can be held at a neutral location like a local library or, coffee shop, your home, or place of business.
*In home or Office lessons are subject to a traveling fee.

Materials: LeTutor will provide all of your basic exercise materials, handouts, and a copy of LeTutor’s Guide to Languages. However basic materials such as Dictionaries and personal literature will be supplied by the student. If you are unsure about which books to purchase we would be happy to recommend some of the many books that we have found to be the most effective. You may also purchase them through LeTutor upon request.

Qualifications: All of our Teachers and Tutors have been chosen based on their advanced foreign language knowledge and skills. Our teachers are not a general studies teacher who has taken a few language classes in college. All of our teachers and tutors are advanced, if not native, in their knowledge of grammar, real life experience, and speaking ability in the foreign language that they teach.

We continually provide feedback and training to our teachers and tutors to ensure that you always receive the most effective learning experience. If you have any comments or feedback we welcome them, positive or negative, because they always help us improve our abilities.

Rescheduling: We try and be as flexible as possible with our students schedule but also value our time. We emphasize a mutual respect of time and therefore will do our best to reshedule a lesson with our student but may not be able to reshedule all lessons when desired due to other appoinments we may have with other students.

Student Responsibility: Although we as teachers hold ourselves to a very high standard of providing you with the best instruction possible, it is impossible for any student of a foreign language to see progress without a sincere individual effort on the part of the student. This means actively seeking opportunities to use and practice the language skills that we teach you. Also, it is expected that each student set aside 2-4 hours per week to study the language on their own. Remember, “Languages are only foreign because we don’t use them”.

Teaching Style: Although our teaching style is unique and fun we are not a gimmicky language program. We simplify languages to their core elements and teach you how to use the information that is given to you. We do not ask you to blindly memorize useless words and phrases because we teach you to SPEAK the language as if you were a native. We use many methods to accomplish our goal but our lessons are always fun, interactive, focused, and emphasize teaching you real life language skills that you can use.

Time: We do have a minimum meeting time of 2 hours per lesson. We have found that 1 hour lessons end too soon, just as the student and teacher are reaching their most effective time. The 2 hour meeting time ends at the perfect time as the attention level and efficiency of the student begin to decrease. This allows for the best results and most effective language learning experience. Our lessons are structured to be fun and interactive and often feel like they are over way too soon.
